On January 7, 2022, Tuya Smart officially announced at CES 2022 that it will support the Matter communication protocol, which means that its more than 446,000 registered developers will be able to quickly and conveniently access the Matter protocol through Tuya Smart, breaking down barriers between different ecosystems and gaining more opportunities for implementation in the smart home field.
On August 25, 2022, Tuya Smart officially released the latest Matter solution, providing customers with a fast product development and certification process. It will also create a one-stop development platform for Matter solutions; provide hubs in various forms to meet the needs of different scenarios, helping customers to automatically interconnect existing non-Matter devices and Matter devices in the local network; connect to Tuya IoT PaaS with the Powered by Tuya app to achieve remote operation and integrated control of smart products in different ecosystems; provide customers with more customized options in addition to standard functions, as well as full-link service support.
As of March 2023, Tuya Smart has obtained the second largest number of Matter product certifications in the world and the first in China; certification can be completed in as fast as 2 weeks, helping customers quickly obtain certificates.
As of August 2024, Tuya Smart has multiple Matter solutions such as electrical, lighting, sensing, home appliances, multimedia, etc., and will continue to work with other protocol participants to promote more smart categories to support the Matter protocol.
